SOLUTION

(a) The area of the field is given as 48,000 sq. ft and the width is 600 feet.

The field is in a shape of a rectangle. So area of the field is the same as the area of a rectangle

Area of a rectangle is given as

\text{Area = length }*\text{ width}

So the equation as relates area to the length and width becomes

\begin{gathered} \text{Area = length }*\text{ width} \\ 48,000=l*600 \\ 48,000=600l \end{gathered}

Hence the equation is

48,000=600l

(b) The length of the field becomes

undefined
