Hello!
a. $75 is the fixed cost as one, but you pay $8.50 per jacket. A function for this situation would be this:
c(n) = 75 + 8.50n
b. As said before, $75 is the fixed price and $8.50 is multiply by the number of jackets imprinted with the name on it. Independent variable is the number of jackets and the dependent variable is the cost total. This is because the number of jackets go on the x-axis and the cost goes on the y-axis. In other words, the cost overall is dependent on the amount of jackets imprinted. You can remember to find the variables by knowing this:
x-axis: independent variable
y-axis: dependent variable
c. To find the cost for 25 jackets to be imprinted, let's multiply 8.50 * 25 in order to get 212.5. Now, add 212.5 and 75 together in order to get 287.5. The cost to have names imprinted on 25 jackets is $287.50.
