George and Arlene are married and have 4 children (Tom,Sam, Wilma,Ann). Tom is married to Sandra and have two children (Daniel and Alan). Alan is married to Tina and have a son Christopher. Ann is married to Michael and have a daughter Carla. **Affected people with alkaptonuria are: Arlene, Tom, Wilma, and Carla** My questions are: Does alkaptonuria appear to be caused by a dominant or recessive allele? What is George's phenotype? Is is possible for Daniel to have a child with alkaptonuria? Explain. How would knowing the pattern of inheritance influence the treatment plan for this disease?

yes, daniel does have a 50% chamce or higher of being affected since his father and aunt and great grandmother have the bad gene. his daughter also has a 25% or higher risk of getting the bad gene
