Bill cuts a 60-m hose into two pieces in the ratio 7:8. What is the length of the longer piece?

To find the answer you add 7 and 8 which is 15.
Then you divide 60 and 15 which is 4.
Now you multiply 7 and 4 which is 28 and multiply 8 and 4 which is 32.
You have an equivelant ratio of 28:32 now.
The longer piece is 32-m.
