Steps to find the inverse:

Step 1

Replace f(x) with y.


y=-\sqrt[]{x-2}\text{ }

Step 2

Replace x with y and y with x in equation from step 1.


x=-\sqrt[]{y-2}

Step 3

Solve the equation from step 2 for y.


\begin{gathered} x^2=y-2 \\ x^2+2=y \\ y=x^2+2 \end{gathered}

Step 4

Replace y with f^-1(x).


f^(-1)(x)=x^2+2
