so, if we take 500 to be the 100%, what is the 5% off of it then?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\ 500&100\\ x&5 \end{array}\implies \cfrac{500}{x}=\cfrac{100}{5}\implies \cfrac{500\cdot 5}{100} =x

so in 1 year she makes "x" bucks, in 6 years she'll make then 6x.
