The brain is the center of functioning in the Nervous system of animals, it is further divided into four lobes: frontal, parietal, occipital and temporal lobe, each lobe holding different functions. In the woman's case, identifying an object solely on its shape and texture, the active part of the brain could be on occipital lobe which in involve in somatosensory processing.

It seems that the area of the brain at work in this given situation is responsible for sensory activity, specifically touch and pressure. This area of the brain is called the somatosensory cortex, which can be found within the parietal lobe.
