Marianne has 5/8 pound of peas. She cooks 2/3 of those peas for 5 people. If each person is served an equal amount, how much peas did each person get?

5/8 * 2/3 = 10/24

There are 5 people to share peas with.

Let E = how many peas each person should get.

E = 5 ÷ 10/24

E = 5/1 • 24/10

E = 24/2

E = 12

Each person should get 12 peas.
