From 1936 to 1846 Texas was an independent Republic and a group of German settlers tried to create a new Germany within its territory. This group of settlers was also known as the Adelsverein, and their project continued even after Texas joined the United States. Thanks to the efforts of this German association, multiple German communities settled in Texas and acquire lands by treaties with the Penateka Comanche Tribe. They also had their own dialect, traditions and festivities. Thus, the right answer is D.) German immigrants
