Divide 8.5 cups by 6:
8.5
--- = 1.41 cups in each glass.
6
This could also be expressed as 1 5/12 cups in each glass.

So basically, this is unit rates....All you have to do is divide the 8.5 cups, by 6 different glasses. Your solution is 1.41 or 1.4 cups in each glass
