last week, the ratio of laptops to desktops sold at a computer store was 2:3. Eighteen desktop models were sold. How many laptop models were sold

If the starting ratio was 2 laptops for every 3 desktops sold, and there are now 18 desktops sold, the original amount of desktops multiplied by 6, so the original number of laptops must also multiply by 6. 6*2 = 12 thus there are now 12 laptops sold.
