Solution

For this case we can do the following:


8^2=x^2+y^2

And we can create the following two questions:


2^2+z^2=x^2,6^2+z^2=y^2

If we subtract the last two equations we got:


6^2-2^2=y^2-x^2

Solving for y^2 we got:


y^2=36-4+x^2=32+x^2

Replacing we got in the first equation:


8^2=x^2+32+x^2

And solving for x we got:


64-32=2x^2
32=2x^2
16=x^2
x=\sqrt[]{16}=4
