4 5/8 is mixed and 37/8 is improper, improper is 4 * 8+5

4 5/8 as an improper fraction is simple, just multiply the denominator, which is 8, by 4 to get 32 and add the numerator, which is 5, to get 37. So 4 5/8 as an improper fraction is 37/8.
