Explanation:

We need to use FOIL

Multiply the FIRST terms of each set together

Then the OUTSIDE terms

Then the INSIDE terms

and then the LAST terms

Thus:


2*2x = 4x


2*3 = 6


-4*3 = -12


-4*2x = -8x

So finally we end up with 4x + 6 - 12 - 8x

Simplifying this gives us -4x - 6

We can then factor out -2 from each factor, giving: -2(2x+3)
