I don't think this belongs in English, but the answer is "B." That's a pretty well-known fact, as are the complications that arose when the soldiers returned from war, displacing the female workers.

As the global conflict escalated on an unprecedented scale, the entire male population was mobilized. As a consequence women's role was expanded. Women were attracted to factories by posters, print advertising, and songs.
