The root of mutation comes from mutare, the Latin word for "change". If you add the noun suffix -ion to this root, what might be the word's meaning?

mutation means the changing of the structure of a gene, resulting in a variant form that may be transmitted to subsequent generations, caused by the alteration of single base units in DNA, or the deletion, insertion, or rearrangement of larger sections of genes or chromosomes. I don't know if this is the answer you need because you could've just looked it up
