The correct answer is option 1. Brown vs Board of Education is what ended racially segregated public education in the United States. In 1954, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled unanimously that it was unconstitutional to racial segregate within the public education system. Previously, in 1952, the Supreme Court decided to join 5 cases related to school segregation as one whole case, called Brown vs Board of Education. The Supreme Court stated that "separate but equal" which was a standard used to promote segregation at schools, was in fact, unconstitutional. due to the fact that denying a student acceptance to a school based on their race, was unequal.
