Represent the Length by L and the Width by W. Then L = W + 2.3.

Then Perimeter P = 2L + 2W = 2(W + 2.3) + 2W = 53 meters.

2W + 4.6 meters + 2W = 53 meters. 4W = (53-4.6) meters.

Finally, W = 48.4 meters / 4 = 12.1 meters.

If W = 12.1 meters, L = 12.1 meters + 2.3 meters) = 14.4 meters = L
