What cash crop saved Jamestown? What effect did it have on the American Indians in the area ?

Tobacco was the case crop that saved Jamestown since either greatly helped in its economy. When they started growing it, the soil became less fertile and huge Fields left less land for the Indians to grow their corn, beans, squash, and all the other necessaries they grew.
