earnings=salary+comission

rico=750+(.05)sales
sean=1100+(0.025)sales

when do them earn the same amount?
if we assume that they have the same amount of sales then
rico=sean
750+(0.05)sales=1100+(0.025)sales
(0.025)sales=350
divide both sides by 0.025
sales=14000

they have to both sell $14,000 to earn the same amount
