-2x+5y=7
add 2x to both sides:
5y=2x+7
Divide everything by 5 to get y by itself:
y = 2/5x+7/5
————————————
2x-5y=-7
Subtract 2x from both sides
-5y=-2x-7
Divid by -5 to get y by itself
y=2/5x+7/5
