The information regarding the number of members in a group and the minutes each member speaks during the presentation.

Members 2 3 4 5 ------------(Considering as x coordinate)

Minutes 11 8 5 2 -------------(Considering as y coordinate)

Slope between ordered pair

As slope(m) between two points
(x_(1),y_(1)),and (x_(2),y_(2)) is given by the formula , m=
(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))

=
(8-11)/(3-2)=(5-8)/(4-3)=(2-5)/(5-4)=(11-2)/(2-5)= -3

As slope between any two ordered pair is same, showing that it is a linear relationship.

As you can see x coordinate increases y coordinates, that is minutes each member speaks decreases. So, this relationship is linear decreasing.

The given data is
Members: 2 3 4 5
Minutes: 11 8 5 2

A graph of the data is shown below.
It indicates that
(a) A linear relationship exists
(b) The function (minutes) decreases as the number of members increases.

Answer:
The function is linear decreasing.
