Let x represents the number of guest and y represents the number of pounds of chicken made,

Given,

The number of pounds of chicken for each guest = 1,

So, the number of pounds for x guests = x,

Also, the number of pounds already made =

Thus, the total pounds of chicken,


y=(8)/(9)+x

Since, a relation is called proportional if the variables are directly proportional,

That is, the line obtained by the relation passes through the origin,

Since, if x = 0, y = 0,

∴ Line
