ena is buying $12 worth of fruit to bring as a class snack. Apples are $1.40 per pound and bananas are $1.25 per pound. Let a be the number of pounds of apples and b the number of pounds of bananas. Write an equation in standard form to model the scenario.

1.40a + 1.25b = 12

1.40 is the price of apples, a is the amount of apples,
1.25 is the price of bananas, b is the amount of bananas.
