Syncopation.

Syncopation is an interruption or change in the normal/expected beat/rhythm of a music, placing notes, or simply beats, accentuating a moment that in the normal rhythm is not present. Syncopation is what makes of music so danceable and many times melodious. A typical rhythm that's associated with syncopation is the samba.
