The number of employees for a certain company has been decreasing each year by 5%. If the company currently has 900 employees and this rate continues find the number of employees in 17 years

2062 employees

Explanation:

Basically, you have an exponential function going on here. If you start with 900 employees and add 5 percent to the amount of employees (multiply by 1.005) seventeen times, you will get the equation
E=900*1.05^(17). If we round down (because there can not be a fraction of an employee), there will be 2062 employees after 17 years.
