A train travels 64 kilometers in 4 hours, and then 92 kilometers in 2 hours. What is its average speed?

Average speed = (total distance)/(total time).

Total distance = 64 + 92 = 156 km.

Total time = 4 + 2 = 6 hours.

Average speed = 156 km/ 6 hours.

That's 26 km/hour .

92 plus 64 is 156.

By dividing 156 (total kms travelled) by 6 (total time which I got by adding 4 and 2), you get an average speed of 26 kms/hour (don't forget the kms/hour as the unit!). Hopefully this helps :)
