Adele is 5 years older than Timothy. In three years, Timothy will be 2/3 of Adele’s age. What is Adele’s current age?

Let timothy present age be x
Then adele present age will be x+5

Now, age of timothy after 3 years =
(x+3)= 2/3(x+5+3)
On solving we get,
x+3 = 2/3(x+8)
x+3= 2/3x + 16/3
Then,
X -2/3x = 16/3 -3
x/3 = 7/3
or x =7
Thus,adele present age will be 7+5 =12 years
And timothy present age is 7 years.
