let x represent one number. Then the other number is x + 2. Calculation: (x + 2)2 - x2 = 32 x2 + 4x + 4 - x2 = 32 Combine terms: 4x = 28 x = 7 One number is 7. The other number is, 7 + 2, or 9. Questions?
