Luke is also making pizzas. He started with 4 1/2 cups of pepperoni. He has used 2/3 of his pepperoni. How many cups of pepperoni has he used so far

He has 6 3/4 cups of pepperoni I believe?

Im not 100% sure but this is how I did it:

I turned the mixed numbers into improper and then from my notes (last trimester which was literally a week ago) you multiply but then invert to find how much OF it you used. We were taught to multiply when it says "of" a certain amount.

2/3 of 4 1/2 cups is 3 cups.

If he has used 3 cups, Luke has 1 1/2 cups of pepperoni left.
