What is the author saying. " A man could be the father of his son's flesh, but that did not mean that he was also the father of his spirit"

The father had the son physically, but that did not mean he was his actual father if he did not care for him as his son

Example: a father had a son and abandoned him. The son was then adopted by his caring (real) father

Answer: The quote means that a son can inherit the physical traits of his father, but the father has no genetic control over their son's personality traits.

Explanation: In "My Name Is Aram" by William Saroyan, the narrator makes this statement because Mourad resembled his father Zorab, but possessed the same personality traits as his uncle, Khosrove.
