Katie's savings account balance is $1625. During the summer she will be making weekly withdrawals of $125. She needs to keep a balance of at least $500 in her account. How many withdrawals can Katie make during the summer and still maintain a $500 balance? If the solution were graphed on a number line, which number(s) would not fit the "context" of the problem?

She can make 9 withdrawals.
$1625-$500 then
That answer divide by $125 each withdrawal

Answer:

9 withdrawals

$500

Explanation:

Katie's savings account balance is $1625. During the summer she will be making weekly withdrawals of $125. She needs to keep a balance of at least $500 in her account

Katies savings balance is 1625

she wants to have $500 balance. So we have $500 as our benchmark, then we deduct 500 from 1625

1625-500

1125/125

9

it means she can make 9 weekly withdrawals at the amount of $125

if we are to create a number line, then $500 will not fit the context of the problem
