NITROGEN FIXING BACTERIA processes nitrogen in the atmosphere and make it available to other living forms in a usable form. Nitrogen fixing bacteria are micro organisms which are capable of transforming atmospheric nitrogen into fixed nitrogen. An example of a nitrogen fixing bacteria are bacteria in the genera azotobacter.
