Yathrib's residents had asked Muhammad to move to the city in order to bring strong leadership and peace. They sought Muhammad's counsel in brokering a peace between the warring tribed of Aws and Khazraj.

Answer:

Yathrib's residents had asked Muhammad to move to the city in order to bring strong leadership and peace.

Step-by-step explanation:

Many Makkahites rejected Muhammad's message and began to persecute him as well as his followers. In 622 Muhammad was forced to leave Mecca, in a migration known as the Hijra, and moved to Yathrib (present-day Medina), for the inhabitants liked his message and desired his leadership. In this city, Muhammad became the head of the first Muslim community. There followed years of battles between the inhabitants of Mecca and Medina, which generally resulted in the victory of Muhammad and his followers. The military organization created during these battles was used to defeat the tribes of Arabia. By the time of his death, Muhammad had virtually unified the entire territory under the sign of a new religion, Islam.
