If university education was made free for everyone, I would be thrilled because more people would go to college and pursue successful careers.

Why is this not an effective claim?

Hmm...
Well, only certain universities, that you pay to get into (or with scholarships) require you to have a stable balance. Which basically means that you have enough money for the general things you need in life. Only some universities actually are free and have a background that is meant for everyone. But unfortunately not all. However, if a student that wishes to get into a university without paying, he has to be uniquely brilliant. Which is why many universities let only a few students in without any charge. If he/she is not someone with the right knowledge, there would be no purpose. See my point? Hopefully this helps!
