Using algebra,
Let x=original liquid in each.
Then by pouring 120 mL from A to B, we have
4(x-120)=x+120
Distribute
4x-480=x+120
4x-x=120+480
3x=600
so x=200
Volume of liquid left in A = 200-120= 80 mL
