3x+8=5x-10 subtract 3x in both sides
8=2x-10 add 10 in both sides
18=2x divide by 2 in both sides
9=x

y=5(9)-10 y=3(9)+8
y=35 y=35

All you need to do is set both equations eual to eachother since they both = y, then solve for x.

5x-10 = 3x+8
5x=3x+18
2x=18
x=9

Now plug x into either equation to get y:

y= 5(9) - 10
y = 35

or

y = 3(9) + 8
y = 35

So your points are x = 9, y=35 or (9,35).
