The Egyptian Amarna style was a new aesthetic, which rejected the rigid, abstract style of the past for a more flowing, elegant, naturalistic approach. Amarna is archeologcial site from the latter half of the Eighteenth Dynasty. The old name for Amarna is Akhetaten.
