Afterswarm - Swarming is the process by which bees form a new colony after the queen bee leaves with a large group of worker bees. This process usually takes place in the spring over a duration of two to three weeks. Following the primary swarming phenomenon, small afterswarms consisting of fewer worker bees and one or more virgin bees may occur. This process continues until there are no more worker bees left.
