mean simply means average
so just add them all up and divide by 5

22 + 37 + 49 + 15 + 71 = 195
195/5 = 39

mean = 39

Mean: Average of numbers in a set of data

STEP 1: Add up all the numbers in the set of numbers. In this case, we would

add... 22 + 37 + 49 + 15 + 72 = 195

STEP 2: Divide the sum of the number by the number of digits added. We would divide 195 "sum of numbers" by 5 "number of digits" and we would get a quotient of 39.
