Expression: (3x + 5) - (x + 2)
= (3x + 5) - 1 (x + 2) *we will be distributing -1 to x and 2.
= 3x + 5 - x - 2
= 3x - x + 5 - 2 (we have combined like terms)
= 2x + 3
So, in conclusion, the answer and expression for this problem is: 2x + 3.

2x+3
First, subtract “x” from “3x” to get 2x. Then, subtract 5-2. You should end up with an answer of 2x+3!
