12.75*3= 38.25oz
18*2=36+9=45oz
83.25/9=9.25

Answer:

Yes, there's enough popcorn for eight 9-ounce bags

Explanation:

we know that

Eight 9-ounce bags is equal to

8*9=72\ ounces

so

By proportion find the amount of popcorn made by each machine

Machine A

(12.75)/(3)=(x)/(10)\\ \\x=12.75*10/3\\ \\x=42.5\ ounces

Machine B

(18)/(4)=(x)/(10)\\ \\x=18*10/4\\ \\x=45\ ounces

so

42.5\ ounces+45\ ounces=87.5\ ounces

87.5\ ounces> 72\ ounces

therefore

There's enough popcorn for eight 9-ounce bags
