so if you mutply 5 1/2 by 4 (4 bc its 5 1/2 per 1/4 and tou need a whole gallon) and you would get 22 accordong to my calculations

1/4 of a gallon of gasoline to drive a distance of 5 1/2 miles
5 1/2 = 11/2
11/2 / 1/4
= 11/2 x 4
= 22 miles

22 miles per gallon of gas
