After Lincoln won the 1860 presidential election, the South Carolina seceded from the Union fearing Lincoln’s views on slavery.
Abraham lincoln has always been the most prominent voice of anti-slavery at that period. Due to the fear of lincoln's new regulations on the economic output of their plantations, south caroline decided to secede the union.
