Two factory workers made 19 pieces in a certain amount of time. How many workers are needed to make (a)38, (b)76 and (c)133 pieces in the same amount of time, assuming each worker works at the same rate?

Use proportions.

(a)

2 workers are to 19 as x workers are to 38

2/19 = x/38

x = 4

(b)

2/19 = x/76

x = 8

(c)

2/19 = x/133

19x = 2 * 133

19x = 266

x = 14
