Answer: Greedy

The story "Two Kinds" appears in the book The Joy Luck Club by American author Amy Tan. The story follows Jing-mei Woo and her mother, who move from China to America. The mother is convinced that Jing-mei is a prodigy child, and pushes her to do tests and learn the piano. Jing-mei, however, has other plans for her life. She wants to be a "Chinese Shirley Temple," and dreams of a great life. She is greedy and hard to please. Towards the end of the story, however, she learns the value of contentment.
