The also had representations of victors from these sporting events. Greek vases also frequently depicted historical and religious stories. Drawings of fantastical beasts such as the Minotaur and centaurs were also common. Thus, ancient Greek vases were meant to transmit their history and culture to those seeing the renderings on the exteriors.
