What does the sugar cube take a longer time to dissolve than the loose granulated sugar?

A given quantity of solute dissolves faster when it is ground into small particles than if it is in the form of a large chunk because more surface area is exposed. In this case, the loose granulated sugar had a larger exposed surface area compared to the sugar cube, thus, it dissolved faster

Because the total surface area exposed to the water is greater for the granulated sugar,
