When you turn on a high-speed power tool such as a router, the tool tends to twist in your hands. why?

The high starting torque or moment on the rotor has an equal and opposite effect on the stator body also, which is felt at starting only. Once the rotor picks up speed, the torque reduces considerably and the twisting is not felt any more.
