In skate boarding an ollie is a move in which the athlete pops the skateboard in the air, making it appear that the board and skateboarder are attached. At the 2009 X Games, one skateboarder completed 34 allies in 30 seconds. if he could keep up that rate, what would be his rate of allies per minute? What would be his rate per hour

Answer:

Ollies per minute: 68 Ollies per hour: 4,080

Explanation:

Ollies per minute: 30 sec is half a minute. So, you do 30 x 2 because it says what would be his rate of ollies per minute. Then if it says they completed 34 ollies in 30 seconds, you do 34 x 2. 34/30 and multiply both by 2 and you get 68/60, or in other words, 68 ollies per minute.

Ollies per hour: 68 ollies/1 min times by 60 min/1 hour = 4,080. So 4,080 ollies per hour
